Butch Whitton Mountain Lion Hunts

If a big tom mountain lion is what you are after, northern New Mexico is loaded with them. Butch hunts just outside of Raton, New Mexico on some of the largest ranches in the state. You will use four wheel drive and mules to access very remote areas of the ranches. Once tracks are cut, the dogs are let loose and the excitement begins. I have known and hunted with Butch and his son Louie for 20 years. You will stay at one of the local motels and base your hunt form there. A fresh snowfall is essential in scheduling your hunt. Best times are January and February.
